Research Overview
BPC-157 component
KPV component
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH (residues 11–13) and is one of the smallest peptides with documented anti-inflammatory activity in cell models. Published work reports interference with NF-kappa B nuclear translocation and reduced output of cytokines such as TNF-alpha and IL-6 in intestinal epithelial cultures, along with reports that intestinal cells take it up through the PepT1 transporter — a mechanism of interest in gut-targeted studies.
Why the two are combined
- Distinct mechanisms: matrix and angiogenic endpoints from BPC-157, transcription-factor and cytokine endpoints from KPV.
- Both are water-soluble and stable enough to share one lyophilized formulation without known incompatibility.
- The overlapping gastrointestinal literature makes them convenient to assay in a single model.
