What is adropin?
Adropin is a small peptide encoded by the energy homeostasis-associated gene. The widely used form corresponds to residues 34-76 of the precursor, and reports describe expression in liver and brain along with several other tissues.
Why is the same peptide listed for human, rat and mouse?
The 34-76 region is identical across these species, so one synthetic peptide serves all three. That conservation makes cross-species comparison straightforward and means antibodies raised against it often recognise the rodent and human forms alike.
Which receptor does adropin act on?
