RAR-Related Orphan Receptors (ROR) — frequently asked

What are RAR-related orphan receptors?
They are nuclear receptor transcription factors comprising RORalpha, RORbeta and RORgamma. Each has a zinc-finger DNA-binding domain and a ligand-binding domain, binds ROR response elements as a monomer, and is reported to be modulated by sterols and related lipid ligands.
Why are these receptors researched?
Reported roles span circadian regulation through Bmal1 transcription, cerebellar and retinal development, lipid metabolism, and lymphocyte differentiation, where the RORgamma-t isoform is closely associated with Th17 cells. Isoform-specific reagents are therefore important in this field.
What forms are supplied?
Listings are defined peptide fragments such as human RORalpha isoform A (493-523), plus matching antibodies and labeled IgG conjugates. The peptides act as immunogens and blocking-peptide controls; isoform coverage should be checked because ROR isoforms differ at their N-termini.
