What are PD-1 and PD-L1?
PD-1 is an immunoglobulin superfamily receptor expressed on activated lymphocytes, and PD-L1 is its principal ligand. Together they form an inhibitory checkpoint pair that is widely studied in immunology and tumour biology research.
