Neuregulins (NRG), including Neuregulin 4 — frequently asked

What are neuregulins?
Neuregulins are EGF-domain signalling proteins encoded by four genes, NRG1 to NRG4, with many splice variants. They are reported to activate ErbB family receptor tyrosine kinases, mainly ErbB3 and ErbB4, and can act either membrane-anchored or as shed soluble forms.
Why does the catalog emphasise Nrg4?
Neuregulin 4 is a short family member that is practical to prepare synthetically, and interest in it has grown from reports of expression in brown and beige adipose tissue and of signalling towards liver. That combination makes defined Nrg4 peptides useful metabolic research tools.
Which variants and species are listed?
Human Nrg4 sequences dominate, including full pro-Nrg4 (1-61), the (1-34) fragment, C-terminal pro-peptide regions, annotated splice variants and substituted controls such as S53A. Sequence identity and modification state should be confirmed on the product page before use.
