Dendroaspis Natriuretic Peptide (DNP) — frequently asked

What is dendroaspis natriuretic peptide?
DNP is a natriuretic peptide first isolated from green mamba venom. It contains the family's characteristic disulfide-bridged 17-residue ring but has an unusually long C-terminal tail, and is reported to activate the guanylyl cyclase receptor NPR-A in experimental systems.
How does DNP relate to ANP, BNP and CNP?
All four share the conserved ring structure and are reported to act at particulate guanylyl cyclase receptors. DNP is of snake venom origin rather than mammalian, and its extended C-terminus is described as conferring different stability and receptor preference in comparative assays.
What formats are available?
The catalog offers synthetic DNP alongside FAM-labeled and I-125 labeled tracers for binding work, purified IgG antibodies and antisera, and EIA and RIA kits for quantification. Since DNP is a single venom-derived sequence, species variants are not applicable here.
