CTLA-4 (CD152) Research Reagents — frequently asked

What is CTLA-4?
CTLA-4, also called CD152, is an immunoglobulin superfamily receptor found on activated T cells and constitutively on regulatory T cells. It binds the B7 ligands CD80 and CD86 with higher avidity than the costimulatory receptor CD28.
Why is CTLA-4 studied?
It is described as a negative regulator of T cell activation and a central immune checkpoint. Proposed mechanisms include competing with CD28 for B7 ligands, removing B7 from antigen-presenting cells, and signalling through its cytoplasmic tail.
What reagents does this family contain?
Items are generally synthetic peptides from defined regions of the receptor sequence, used as immunogens, blocking peptides and epitope mapping tools, together with matched antibodies for flow cytometry, immunoblot and immunohistochemistry applications.
