Cochlin (Coch) Peptides — frequently asked

What is cochlin?
Cochlin is the secreted extracellular matrix protein encoded by the COCH gene, expressed strongly in the inner ear and reported in the eye and some immune settings. Its structure comprises an LCCL domain followed by two von Willebrand factor A-like domains.
Why is cochlin studied?
Variants in the COCH gene, frequently within the LCCL domain, have been associated with the inherited hearing and balance disorder DFNA9, and cochlin deposits have been described in affected tissue. Reports of roles in innate immune responses have also appeared.
What is supplied in this family?
The defined fragment Coch (131-150) is listed unlabeled and with biotin, FAM, rhodamine and I-125 labels. These formats suit immunogen preparation, blocking-peptide controls, fluorescence detection and tracer binding work rather than reconstituting full protein function.
