AQEE Peptides (VGF-Derived) — frequently asked

What are AQEE peptides?
AQEE peptides are C-terminal fragments of the neurosecretory protein VGF. The names combine the first residues of the sequence with its length, so AQEE-30 corresponds to prepro-VGF residues 586 to 615, with AQEE-19 and AQEE-11 as shorter products.
Why are VGF-derived peptides studied?
VGF expression is induced by neurotrophins and its processing products are released in an activity-dependent way. Rodent studies associate them with energy balance, synaptic plasticity, pain signalling and neurogenesis, and altered levels have been reported in neurological research cohorts.
Why are several overlapping fragments offered?
VGF is cleaved at multiple internal sites, producing overlapping peptides that antibodies and immunoassays may not distinguish. Supplying AQEE-30, AQEE-19 and AQEE-11 separately lets researchers calibrate fragment-specific assays and compare activity across different processing products.
