How do APLP proteins differ from APP?
APLP1 and APLP2 are structurally similar transmembrane proteins processed by the same secretase activities, but they lack the amyloid-beta sequence. Their cleavage products, such as APL1-beta peptides, are used to study gamma-secretase cleavage specificity.
